Yukio Watanabe, 70, passed away on October 7, 2012 at Maui Memorial Medical Center in Wailuku.
Services will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Visitation will be 10:00 am, with services at 11:00 am. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Watanabe was born on November 3, 1941 in Wailuku, Maui. He was a printer at Maui News. He also owned/operated a print shop, YW, Enterprises in Wailuku, for 30 years.
He is survived by Chie Watanabe; sons, Eddie (Shelly Nomura) Watanabe, Daniel (Lehuanani Cockett) Watanabe; brothers, Akinori Watanabe, Robert (Marlene) Watanabe, Stanley (Bonnie) Watanabe; sister, Susan Dengler; sisters-in-law, Astrid Watanabe, Elizabeth Watanabe; grandchildren, Justin, Aulialani, and Preston Watanabe. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Toshio; sister, and brother-in-law, Evelyn and George Wilhelm.
"Butch" loved drinking beer, playing cards, betting on football, fishing, cooking, and enjoying his family and friends. He loved life, and lived it to the fullest.
