Speaker to discuss volunteerism options
Wendy Stebbins, coordinator for the County of Maui Volunteer Center, will speak at the Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea.
Stebbins will talk about volunteer opportunities on Maui, Lanai and Molokai.
The public is invited to this free talk.
A buffet lunch will be available from 11:30; cost is $16.

Molina will speak at Kiwanis meeting
Mike Molina, executive assistant to Mayor Alan Arakawa, will be the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Maui meeting at noon Thursday at Cary & Eddie's Hideaway Restaurant and Lounge.
Molina will discuss the volunteer boards and commissions in Maui County.
The meeting is open to the public and visitors are invited. Cost of lunch is $12.

Dental program orientation session set
University of Hawaii Maui College's Dental Assisting Program will hold a general orientation meeting for prospective students at 4 p.m. Thursday at Maui Oral Health Center in Wailuku.
The program is an accredited two-semester program that provides students with the skills needed to work in the dental profession. Students are taught in the classroom, while receiving hands-on clinical training at the Maui Oral Health Center and at private practice dental offices on Maui.

Free smoking cessation classes offered
Maui Family Support Services and Beach Body Fit club will partner to offer four free classes to individuals who smoke.
The first class will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pomaikai
Elementary School cafeteria in Kahului.
Church youth group to hold rummage sale
St. Joseph Church Youth Group will host a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the church gym, located at 1294 Makawao Ave.
Sale proceeds will help youth members attend a conference in Los Angeles.
Hope Chapel to host free outdoor movie
Hope Chapel will host a free outdoor movie night at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the chapel's back lawn.
There will be food for purchase, face painting, giveaways and balloon artists.
The public is welcome and attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets.
The chapel is located in Kihei at the corner of Piilani Highway and East Welakahao Road.

Class of '92 to celebrate 20-year reunion
Maui High School Class of 1992 will celebrate its 20-year reunion later this month.
There will be a dinner on Oct. 19 at Cafe O'Lei at The Dunes at Maui Lani. Cost is $60 per person. The deadline for payment is Tuesday. A family day at Kamaole III Beach Park will be on Oct. 20.
