Kalei Adolpho matched a career high with nine kills - on 10 attempts with no errors - as the University of Hawaii women's volleyball team defeated Long Beach State 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Adolpho, a Molokai High School graduate, had nine kills in two other matches this season, most recently against California on Sept. 2. Her best total as a freshman last year was seven.
Emily Hartong had 12 kills for the Rainbow Wahine (12-2, 5-0 Big West), ranked eighth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll and winners of seven consecutive matches. Jane Croson added eight kills. Kamehameha Maui graduate Ginger Long played in two sets and had an assist.

Chisom Okpala had nine kills and a .750 hitting percentage for the 49ers (7-8, 2-2). Alma Serna and Brie Mackie each had eight kills.
Hawaii will play at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Friday.
