Thank you to the people who made the Maui Softball Clinic possible. Maui High Principal Randy Yamanuha and Athletic Director Mike Ban allowed the use of Patsy Mink Stadium. Mrs. Mink wrote Title 9 into law, for no one will be discriminated against. Coach Kelly Inouye-Perez talked about this law. Now her players know about Mrs. Mink's roots. "Coach I," as her players call her, said it's an honor to participate in the clinic at the stadium. Coach I's father has roots on Maui too, for he was born here.
Also, Susan Nobriga and the Na Pua Ko parents deserve a big mahalo for assisting in the clinic. The Lahaina Girls parents, Loreen Akiona and Rose Hodgins, helped out also. The Maui High coaching staff was a big help in assisting Coach I on the field. County parks staff helped with the permits and opened the field and restrooms.
Last but not least, thanks to The Maui News for advertising and covering the clinic. The article on the Sports page was awesome and the girls and parents loved the article. To feature the younger girls was a great idea for they normally don't make the Sports page. Even the Parks Manager Pat Rocco loved the article. To have a national champion UCLA coach here teaching the girls was the best thing for the softball girls in Hawaii. There were girls from every island here on the clinic.

On behalf of the board, volunteers and animals of the East Maui Animal Refuge (Boo Boo Zoo), we want to thank Seabury Hall for including us in your Career Fair on Aug. 31.
We received an overwhelming response from the students, and we're very excited to bring on more volunteers to continue our mission of providing lifelong care for the injured, orphaned and abandoned animals of Maui.
Mahalo for giving us the opportunity to reach out to the students.
Love is helping the helpless.
