A high-surf advisory for Maui County's south-facing shores was extended to 6 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Surf was expected to be 6 to 8 feet through the evening.
Friday and Saturday's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with isolated showers in leeward areas and mostly cloudy with scattered showers in windward and mauka regions. High temperatures were expected to range from 83 to 88 degrees, with trade winds blowing around 15 mph.
For Sunday through Tuesday, partly cloudy and hazy skies are forecast for the island with scattered showers during the day and isolated showers at night.
