The Rotary Club of Upcountry Maui will host a television and computer e-cycling event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at several Upcountry locations.
Rotary members, in conjunction with the Maui County Electronics Recycling Program, will pick up equipment and deliver it to Habitat for Humanity's Re-Store Warehouse in Wailuku for refurbishment or recycling.
There will be a requested donation of $5 for each small box of accessories and small items including keyboards, speakers, laptops and televisions up to 19 inches.
Each medium-sized box of accessories and medium-sized items including monitors, computers, and televisions up to 25 inches, will cost $10.
Larger equipment, including televisions sized 26 inches or larger, will cost $15 to $20 per item.
Recyclable materials include items with electronic circuit boards and all attachments, audio devices, telephones and most office equipment. No appliances will be accepted.
In addition, the club will pick up batteries for an additional $5 ($10 for car batteries) for recycling for those already arranging for pickup of electronic equipment.
Useable equipment is donated to Habitat for Humanity. All other items will be shipped to the Mainland for recycling.
This event will cover the Upcountry area only. To arrange for pickup in Makawao, Haiku and Paia, call 573-9260. For pickup in Kula and Pukalani, call 298-2393.
