WAILUKU - Baldwin High School's Lena Knue is a three-time qualifier for the state air riflery tournament, but her senior year might be particularly special.

Knue began this year's Maui Interscholastic League season with a double-digit victory on Saturday, scoring 253 points at the Baldwin Armory.

"It feels good to have my opportunity now," Knue said. "Last year, a lot of our best shooters were seniors, and they're gone now."

St. Anthony's Luke Gage was the boys individual winner with a score of 244.

"It's a great start for the year," said Gage, who finished with a meet-best six bull's-eyes. "I'm kind of shocked, actually."

The Trojans won the boys and girls team competitions.

Raikes (90 prone) and Gage were the only boys to score in the 90s in any position.
