High Holiday Prayer workshop to be held Wednesday in Kihei
The Jewish Congregation of Maui is offering a High Holiday Prayer workshop at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
This newly designed interactive program was created by the National Jewish Outreach Program to help participants with limited Jewish knowledge or background gain an appreciation and an understanding of the High Holy Day prayers, according to an announcement.
Millions of American Jews attend a synagogue service only once a year - during the High Holy Days. They may come for different reasons, but these "once-a-year" attendees share a common frustration: they don't understand the service.
The aim of Beit Shalom and the National Jewish Outreach Program is to help participants feel more prepared for, and thus more comfortable with, their High Holy Day experience.
For more information, call the Jewish Congregation of Maui at 874-5397. The synagogue is located at 634 Alulike St. in Kihei.
