The Yoga Aid Foundation will host a Yoga Aid World Challenge at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lumeria Maui.
The foundation is an international nonprofit that raises funds for charities through philanthropic yoga events. The Lumeria Maui event is part of a global yoga challenge that will unite yogis around the globe in an effort to raise $1 million, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the selected charitable organizations, according to a news release. Starting in Sydney, the 24-hour yoga relay will travel around the world and end at sundown in Los Angeles.
The Yoga Aid World Challenge will bring together teachers, studios and students in more than 20 countries. During these events, participants will embark on a two-hour yoga practice as a way to celebrate the funds raised for the charity partners.
