MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - University of Hawaii associate athletic director Carl Clapp is one of four finalists scheduled to be interviewed for the AD job at Montana next week.
Clapp has worked at UH since 2006 and has also served as AD at Avila College in Kansas City, the University of Redlands in California and Saint Mary's College in California. He is to be interviewed Monday.
The other finalists are Kent Haslam, the associate director for development with the UM Foundation; John Johnson, the senior associate director of athletics at Washington State, and Chris King, athletic director at Texas-Pan American. Johnson is scheduled to interview on Aug. 29, Haslam on
Aug. 30 and King on Aug. 31.
"These four finalists are passionate about their work and exhibit the strong leadership skills we need to take Grizzly Athletics to an even higher level of excellence," said Montana president Royce Engstrom, who was the chairman of the search committee.
Rockne Freitas is the acting AD at UH, moving into that spot last month after Jim Do-novan was placed on indefinite paid leave.
