NORTH PLAINS, Ore. (AP) - Michelle Wie made an LPGA Tour cut for the fourth time in 11 starts this year, ending the second round of the Safeway Classic in a tie for 11th place, six shots behind the leader, Mika Miyazato.
Wie, a Punahou School graduate, shot a 2-under-par 70 on Saturday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club's Ghost Creek Course for a 5-under total of 139. She eagled the par-5 ninth hole, to go with four birdies and four bogeys.
Miyazato shot a bogey-free 68.
MICHELLE WIE, in a tie for 11th place
So Yeon Ryu, bidding to win for a second straight week, was two shots back after a 68.
Miyazato is enjoying her best stretch of play on the LPGA Tour of late, with second-place ties this summer at the NW Arkansas Championship and LPGA Championship.
Ryu is 29 under in her last six rounds of competition, with all six rounds in the 60s.
Cristie Kerr and Inbee Park each shot 70 to reach 8 under.
Sydnee Michaels, who shared the lead with Miyazato after the first round, had a 72 to join top-ranked Yani Tseng and Paula Creamer at 137. Tseng had a 67, and Creamer shot a 69.
