Fred Yamashita, 85, of Kahului, passed away on August 11, 2012 at home under hospice care.
He was born on March 18, 1927 in Haiku Maui. He was a machinist for Kahului Trucking.
Visitation will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Kahului Union Church, with services at 10:30am. Burial will be at a later date.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy; sons Lee (Doreen), Dean (Michelle); daughter Cathy Tam; brothers George Yamashita, Calvin (Ethel) Yamashita; sister Nancy Tanaka; grandchildren Rhonda (Travis) Kanamu, Robyn (Ray) Delapinia, Everett Lee (Nicole) Yamashita, Krista Yamashita, Adam Yamashita, Kisha Tam, Tevin Tam; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
