SPRECKELSVILLE -The Alexander & Baldwin Foundation donated $20,000 to Kaunoa's Congregate Nutrition program for senior citizens.
HC&S General Manager Rick Volner Jr. presented the contribution to Department of Housing & Human Concerns Director Jo-Ann Ridao during Kumiai Day on Aug. 3 at Kaunoa Senior Center in Spreckelsville. The event was a cultural celebration reminiscent of early sugar plantation days and was co-sponsored by HC&S.
For the past 35 years, A&B Foundation's financial support has helped Kaunoa's Congregate Nutrition program provide nutritious meals at 17 satellite centers throughout Maui County, according to a news release. Special activities and events for people over 60 years of age are also supported by this grant.
