Helm to visit Lanai

Kanohowailuku Helm, a candidate for the East Maui, Molokai and Lanai District 7 state Senate seat, will be on Lanai on Monday and Tuesday.

His schedule Monday includes a gathering at Richard's Market and Pine Isle Market from 10:30 a.m. to noon; lunch at Poke Shop, noon to 1:30 p.m.; visit to Dole Park, 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and dinner and talk story at Hale Kupuna, 6 to 8 p.m.

On Tuesday, Helm will hold a coffee and talk story at Coffee Works, Blue Ginger Cafe and Canoes Lanai Restaurant from 7 to 9 p.m.


Guzman event set

KAHULUI - Don Guzman, who is seeking the County Council's Kahului residency seat, will hold a West Maui Talk Story session from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lahaina Civic Center Social Hall.

The event will be an opportunity for the public to meet the candidate. There will be food, door prizes and entertainment.

Guzman is a former county deputy prosecutor and runs a general law practice.

The event is free, but donations will be accepted.
