HONOLULU (AP) - A University of Hawaii football player is free on bail after being arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
The Honolulu Star Advertiser reported Sunday that Alema Tachibana, a backup linebacker from Kahuku, Oahu, was arrested at 4:55 a.m. Saturday. He was released after posting $500 bail.
The 23-year-old Tachibana was ordered to return to court July 16.
His arrest comes after Warriors backup quarterback Cayman Shutter was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in late March. He pleaded no contest to the charge, and was ordered to pay $418 in fines and attend drivers-education classes and a substance-awareness program.
Shutter has been suspended for the first four games of this upcoming season.
