June 15, 2012
The Associated Press

KAMUELA, Hawaii (AP) - Big Island police are investigating the possible drowning of a 50-year-old San Francisco man who was snorkeling along the Kohala Coast.

Police said Paul Tsang was snorkeling off Mauna Lani Beach Club on Wednesday when someone on shore noticed he was floating on the water. A man from Ogden, Utah, on a paddleboard went to check on him and found him unresponsive.

Tsang was brought to shore, where a nurse from Tucson, Ariz., helped lifeguards perform CPR. He was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
