HONOLULU - The Kamehameha Schools Maui girls water polo team lost in its Stanford Carr Development, LLC State Championship opener Wednesday, falling to Kaiser 6-3 at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
Randi Gongob led the Cougars (10-5) with four goals. The Warriors (6-6) had three different players score a goal each - names were not reported.
Kamehameha Maui, the Maui Interscholastic League runner-up, will next play a consolation match against Leilehua on Friday.
In today's quarterfinals, MIL champion Baldwin (10-0) will face Oahu Interscholastic Association runner-up Kapolei, an 8-6 winner over Mililani.
