Countering suds with suds

April 30, 2012
The Maui News

First Photo: Maui Waena 6th-grader and Maui Economic Opportunity volunteer Janae Medeiros-Taylor, 11, scrubs a van during a free carwash in Kahului on Saturday afternoon. She was part of a group of kids and adults spreading the word about drunken driving prevention and the "Be A Jerk" campaign. The campaign aims to persuade adults to "Be a Jerk" and not provide alcohol to those under the legal drinking age of 21.

Second Photo: Kihei Charter School 6th-grader Brodie Saphore, 11, ducks a spray of flying suds from Maui Waena 6th-grader Vincent Zerna, 12, on Saturday. The MEO volunteers said they enjoy helping the community and have also participated in beach cleanups and workdays on local farms.
