'CINDERELLA' GETS PROARTS TREATMENT

"Cinderella" plays at 7:30 tonight at the ProArts Playhouse, continuing Thursdays to Sundays through April 22. Several cast members return from the previous ProArts fractured fairy tale productions including Bill Schnitzer, Vinnie Linares, Rose Roselinsky, Dale Button and Kristi Scott along with newcomers Casey Murphy (in the title role), Mark Bolden, Sarah Loney, and Dylan Bode. 'PETER PAN' FLIES INTO LAHAINA

"Peter Pan" - a dance production by The Alexander Academy of Performing Arts- will fly into Lahaina for two performances in the Maui Theatre, home of " 'Ulalena." The opening performance is at 6 p.m. for this family-friendly production featuring more than 150 island dancers, from age 3 to adults. Tickets are $10 to $30. REGGAE TOUR HITS MACC PAVILION

The MayJah RayJah Tour featuring Katchafire and Tribal Seeds comes to the MACC Pavilion Amphitheater for a 5 p.m. show. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. This double bill blends New Zealand's popular Katchafire with San Diego's own Tribal Seeds. Also on the bill are Anuhea, Common Kings, Tomorrow's Bad Seeds, Maoli and KNOVA. FRONT STREET JAZZ AND BLUES WALK

The second annual Front Street Jazz and Blues Walk returns to Lahaina for three days and nights of musical festivities at restaurants, bars and other venues. Presented by the Maui Jazz Society, artists include Marion Meadows, the Hot Club of Hulaville, Maui's Kelly Covington, Willie K, David Choy, Benoit Jazz Works, Fulton Tashombe's Maui All-Star Jazz Band, Phil Smith and the "Gentlemen of Jazz, " R. E. Metoyer Blues, Rock & Soul Revue, Sam Ahia Quartet, Keoki Ruiz & Friends, Soul Congress featuring: Clay Mortensen, Mike Buono, John Zangrando, Shiro Mori, Doug White, Ono Grimes, Bob Jones & the Drive, Latin Jazz Messengers,Sal Godinez/ Bob Harrison and the Lahainaluna Jazz Band.For more information, see Maui Beat and Dining.

SECOND FRIDAY IN LAHAINA

Along with the second annual Front Street Jazz and Blues Walk, a number of special activities are slated as Maui's movable weekly block party hits Lahaina. Participating restaurants are offering specials and galleries are making Friday's weekly Art Night even better than usual. Wo Hing Museum continues its Ha'ina Hou! (Let the Story be Told!) series telling the story of Sun Yat Sen, the first president of the Republic of China, with Dr. Busaba Yip-Douglas on the museum lawn at 6:30 p.m. And the Baldwin Home Museum will present the world of Hawaiian warfare and weaponry with Ke'eaumoku Kapu, on the mansion awn at 7:30 p.m.

STAR NOODLE'S BOWLS BENEFIT FOOD BANK

Star Noodle in Lahaina will be jumping from 5 to 8 p.m. with a a benefit for Maui Food Bank. It will team with Maui Organization of Ceramic Arts artists, who have made 200 handcrafted bowls to be sold for $25 donation. That gets you visits to the noodle bar. Outside, a street fair will take place under the stars with live music, taiko drummers, more food, silent auction and sake, beer and wine sales. Stay for the after-party from 8 to 10 p.m., when Star Noodle debuts its new Star Lounge with deejay music and izakaya (Japanese bar food) menu items. Call 667-5400.

MUSIC OF PORTUGAL COMES TO HAIKU

Ramana Viera, songstress of Fado, accompanied by Michael McMorrow on Portuguese Guitarra and Patrick Fahey on mandolin present "An Evening in Portugal" from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Sacred Earth Temple, 4505 Hana Highway, in Haiku. Tickets are $15 at the door for this chance to see "the new voice of Portuguese world music."
