Merriman's Kapalua boasts some of the planet's most beautiful oceanfront views from The Point.
This lounge area is a deck, situated on the tip of a black-lava finger that juts into the ocean on Kapalua Bay.
"We have an amazing deck yet before, we ONLY served wine and beer," says Brandi Romain, general manager of Merriman's. "Customers ordered from the bar upstairs if they wanted a cocktail and then they brought it down to the deck."

Now, you may sip one-of-a-kind mai tais, bourbon and hibiscus, and tequila and mango with coconut foam, all muddled and mixed with sustainable ingredients by mixologists in house.
The locavore specialty cocktails use fresh vegetables from Merriman's garden as well as other local farms. Sip watermelon drinks, cucumber quenchers and house-made ginger ale with Maui Ocean vodka garnished with candied ginger. Happy hour drink specials run from 3 to 5 p.m.
Happy hour specials include $6 mai tais, $4 well drinks, $2 beers and 25 percent off wines by the glass.
Appetizers include fresh ahi sashimi with pohole fern salad and house-made kim chee; kalua pig and sweet-onion quesadilla with mango-chili sauce, and mahimahi fish 'n' chips with Kapalua eggplant, farm pickles and sweet-corn tartar sauce.
The taro hummus plate and the cheese plate will keep you coming back for more with olives and other munchies.
"It really takes the outdoor bar to a new level to sit out there, watch the sunset and the whales and cozy up around the fire pit at night," says Romain. "The Point's hours are 3 to 9 p.m."
