RUSTON, La. (AP) - Trevor Gaskins scored 22 points and Brandon Gibson added 16 for Louisiana Tech in an 84-67 win over the University of Hawaii men's basketball team on Saturday.
The win extended the Bulldogs' longest winning streak of the season to four straight games, and secured a season sweep over the Rainbow Warriors. Louisiana Tech (15-14, 5-7 Western Athletic Conference) beat UH by four points on Jan. 20.
This one was not as close, although for most of the first half it looked like the Warriors would come out on top. They led for the first 13 minutes until Cordarius Johnson connected on a 3-pointer to pull Louisiana Tech ahead 29-28.
Gibson added a 3-pointer of his own and a layup, fueling a 12-2 run, and the Bulldogs led the rest of the way.
Vander Joaquim had 20 points and 10 rebounds for UH (15-13, 6-6). Zane Johnson scored 11 points
The Warriors have two games remaining in their regular season, both at the Stan Sheriff Center. On Thursday, they host Idaho, and they close out the season against Utah State on March 3.
