HONOLULU - The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team lost its third straight match on Friday, falling 25-21, 25-20, 25-21 to top-ranked UCLA at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Steven Hunt had 16 kills for the 13th-ranked Warriors (6-8, 3-6 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), and Taylor Averill added eight.
The Warriors have lost their last nine sets.
The Bruins (13-2, 8-1) got 16 kills from Gonzalo Quiroga, and won an 11th consecutive match. Quiroga did not have an error in 21 attempts, finishing with a hitting percentage of .762.
UCLA swept UH for the second time this season - the teams also met in the Outrigger Hotels Invitational last month.
The teams will play each other again today, with the Warriors trying to avoid matching their longest losing streak of the season.
