LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Breanna Arbuckle scored a game-high 17 points as the University of Hawaii women's basketball team held on to defeat New Mexico State 58-51 on Thursday.
Vicky Tagalicod added 13 points and Kamilah Jackson registered her 13th double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Rainbow Wahine, who had lost four straight.
The game had 10 lead changes, the last coming with 15 minutes, 38 seconds remaining in the game when Alissa Campanero made a layup to give UH (9-15, 4-4 Western Athletic Conference) a 31-30 advantage.
Making her first start for the Rainbow Wahine, freshman forward Kalei Adolpho of Molokai had three rebounds and a turnover in 18 minutes.
Erica Sanches had 13 points to lead the Aggies (5-10, 2-8).
Last month, UH beat New Mexico State 51-48 at the Stan Sheriff Center. It is the first time since the 2007-08 season that the Rainbow Wahine have swept a WAC series, and their three road wins are also their most since 2006-07, when they won five road games.
UH next plays at Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
