STOCKTON, Calif. - Steven Hunt had 25 kills to lead the 14th-ranked University of Hawaii men's volleyball team to a 24-26, 22-25, 25-19, 27-25, 15-11 victory over No. 12 Pacific on Friday.
The Warriors (5-5, 2-3 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) erased two match points in the pivotal fourth set and never trailed in the fifth. UH extended its win streak over the Tigers (3-6, 1-3) in Stockton to 15 and improved to 39-1 all-time against them.
Nick West had 12 kills, Taylor Averill added 11 kills, J.P. Marks had 10 kills, Sam Biscaro had nine blocks and Nick Castello had four aces for UH.
Taylor Hughes led the Tigers with 22 kills.
The teams play again today.
