HONOLULU - Doomed by poor shooting in the second half, the University of Hawaii women's basketball team lost to Idaho 69-61 on Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Wahine, who lost their second straight after winning three games in a row, led 37-26 at halftime and scored the first six points after the break to take their largest lead of the game, 43-26. They were able to maintain the lead for a few minutes before the Vandals chipped away, helped out by UH's 7-of-37 shooting from the field (18.9 percent) in the second half.
Kamilah Jackson led Hawaii (8-13, 3-3 Western Athletic Conference) with 15 points and 20 rebounds. Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had four rebounds, a turnover, a steal and a block, and was 0-for-2 from the field.
Keri Arendse posted 19 points and 10 rebounds for Idaho (6-16, 1-5), which nailed seven of their 13 3-point attempts in the second half.
