HONOLULU (AP) - Zane Johnson scored 18 of his season-high 29 points in the first half as the University of Hawaii men's basketball team beat New Mexico State 91-87 on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Johnson was 7-of-13 from 3-point range and 10-of-17 from the field overall as the Rainbow Warriors (11-8, 3-2 Western Athletic Conference), who led by as many as 19, won for the first time in three games. Joston Thomas had 17 points and nine rebounds.
Bandja Sy scored 17 points for the Aggies (14-6, 4-1), who had won their last six games and nine of their previous 10.
Hawaii plays at Utah State on Thursday, and visits Idaho on Saturday.
