Middle East expert to speak at service
KAHULUI - An expert on the Middle East and a best-selling author will be speaking at King's Cathedral at the 6 p.m. Sunday service.
Mike Evans is the author of "The American Prophecies: Ancient Scriptures Reveal Our Nation's Future" and an award-winning journalist. He has served as a confidant to Middle East leaders for more than three decades, an announcement said.

Lei'ohu Ryder to speak Sunday
WAILUKU - Lei'ohu Ryder will be speaking at Unity Church of Maui on Sunday from 10 to 11 a.m.
She is a spiritual leader and visionary and will share spiritual practices from the ancient Hawaiian perspective through storytelling.

Ordination event set for Sunday
WAILUKU - The ordination for Pastor Darren Sarmiento will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Valley Isle Fellowship services at the Wailuku Elementary School cafeteria.
He has been on staff with Valley Isle Fellowship since 2007, serving as pastor of small groups and worship.
Preceding the ordination event, there will be a service at 9:45 a.m. A potluck luncheon will follow at 11:30 a.m.
