HONOLULU - A day after being swept by the 11th-ranked University of Hawaii men's volleyball team, UC San Diego returned the favor Friday, beating the Warriors 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Steven Hunt had 13 kills to lead UH (1-1), which hit just .156 for the match compared to .333 for UC San Diego.
Carl Eberts had 14 kills, five blocks and two aces for the Division-II Tritons (1-1).
The Warriors next host the Outrigger Hotels Volleyball Invitational, playing Springfield on Thursday, Lewis on Friday and UCLA on Saturday.
