SPORTS LESSONS: "Being an athlete has taught me many things that carry over into life. It has taught me how to be a leader and set the example for others to follow. I've had to demonstrate patience and learn how to balance my life, school and sports. The most beneficial skill I've taken out of being an athlete is how to draw the best out of the team and myself."

Sports Spotlight students are selected by athletic officials from Maui County high schools and these profiles are compiled by the sports department of The Maui News. The Alexander & Baldwin Foundation makes a $200 donation in honor of each student athlete to their high school's athletic fund.
