'Harry Potter' series begins Aug. 28

WAILUKU - A new youth ministry based on the "Harry Potter" series will be held Sundays from Aug. 28 to Oct. 30 at the Unity Church of Maui.

The "Lumindorf School of Magic and Mystery" will focus on discovering the light within through games, challenges and creative activities. Harry Potter's story is a spiritual journey with which everyone can identify. The story can offer children an opportunity to reflect on their own personal journeys while pointing them to a higher power.

The curriculum uses a variety of stories from the first four books of the Potter series and is designed to assist the students in tapping into the "magic" that exists within them, a news release said.

The program is free and will be held on 10 Sundays from 10 to 11 a.m.

Unity Church of Maui is located at 483 S. High St. For more information, call 242-9327.
