Volunteers sought for Angel Tree program

July 22, 2011
The Maui News

WAILUKU - Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, that provides the children of those incarcerated at Maui Community Correctional Center with Christmas presents and a religious message has begun soliciting volunteers.

Volunteers buy gifts and give them to the children of inmates along with an age appropriate presentation of the gospel, said MCCC Chaplain Pua Hashimoto. The goal of the program is to build a bridge between the prisoners and their children.

Hashimoto founded the Maui Chapter of Angel Tree in 1984.

Those interested in helping the program may call 281-9390.
