Sharky's Family Fun Restaurant at Lipoa Center in Kihei will celebrate its new menu with a grand relaunch party from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
"We never had a grand opening and the menu is changing, so we thought, why not have a party?" says Josh Marten, the new chef and manager.
The kid-friendly restaurant now offers the largest pizza on Maui as well as the biggest BLT on the island.

"We want to be known as an extreme food kind of place," says Marten. "The BLT is packed with one pound of bacon. We're also doing Maui's largest nachos. The unique thing is we'll have some gluten-free as well as vegetarian items."
Besides having a pirate ship to jump on, balloons and a face painter, the party will feature Wii sports games, a bouncy castle and more.
"The day of the party, we'll feature live music all day, pie-eating and hot-dog eating contests. And, if you dress like a pirate, you get free tokens for the games."
Any other day of the week, adults will find food and drink to satisfy their appetites when the kids are playing.
"The thing we want to get across is that Sharky's isn't just for kids," says Marten. "It's a great place for parents to have date night. We also get a lot of single parents coming in with kids."
Sit at the beautiful Balinese bar or at one of the large picnic tables imported from that exotic locale and have yourself and nice cool drink.
"We just got the license for a full bar and you may sip micro brews on tap, wine or cocktails," says Marten. "We also just started a fresh smoothie bar."
Tuesday is Family Fun Night from 5 to 9 p.m. with a live DJ, free game room, karaoke and trivia.
"We're bringing in barbecue night every Wednesday at Sharky's," says Marten. "My passion is barbecue. I've been a champion and have won over 150 trophies across the country in top competitions."
The chef continues to say that everything is fresh, not frozen. And that items such as the batter for the fish and chips and the crust for the pizza are made with gluten-free rice and corn flour.
Any day, you may enter to win the Great White Chicken Wing Challenge. All you have to do is eat eight super hot wings in five minutes to win a T shirt.
"They are really HOT!" says Marten. "Each table will have a bell and when you are done, you ring the bell. If you can't finish, a red siren will go off and the waitress will give you a glass of milk."
Fun birthday packages are available for the little ones. Prices start at $14.95 for a six-person minimum, and you get reserved table, two hours exclusive game room, 12 tokens per guest, pizza, drinks, balloons and more. Cake is extra.
