The president of MauiGrown Coffee in Lahaina just went on an exotic trip to help put Maui coffee on the world map.
"I went to Sana'a, Yemen, for the Arabica Naturals Conference last month," says Falconer. "I spoke at the conference about the Mokka coffee variety we grow here on Maui that actually originated in Yemen. While there is an Al Qaeda presence there, it was a safe and interesting trip."

"The jambia sword is their equivalent of our tie," he says. "I also went to Ethiopia and then met my family in Rome."
In addition, the MauiGrown Coffee Store, located near the historic smokestack off Lahainaluna Road, is the place to go for the coffee lover in your life when shopping for Valentine's Day.
"We will have Mokka coffees to sample and taste," says Manager Jeff Ferguson, who, with Diane Boyd, just became partners in the business. "We'll also sell our famous French Kiss coffee, it's red catuai beans with a dark roast." Call 661-2728.
