WAILUKU - Linda McCullough Decker will be ordained as a priest during a Dec. 4 service at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku.
The ordination will begin at 3 p.m. with the Rt. Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, officiating. Episcopal clergy from throughout the state are expected to join in the ordination. A reception will follow.
Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Decker graduated from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology in 1981 with a Master of Divinity degree.

She and her husband, John, moved to Maui in 1981 and became members of the Good Shepherd Church. She has been involved with lay ministry and primary pastoral counseling. She was ordained to the diaconate in May.
"This is such an important event in the life of Good Shepherd Church," said the Rev. Marvin Lee Foltz, rector of Good Shepherd. "Linda and her husband, John, have been faithful lay leaders at our church and in the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii. The entire Good Shepherd Church ohana is very happy that Linda will be ordained to the priesthood."
