Waipuna Chapel rummage sale set
KULA - Waipuna Chapel will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the church grounds at the corner of Kula Highway and Omaopio Road.
The sale will offer household items, clothing, books, collectibles and some furnishings. Proceeds will benefit the Haggai Scholarship award that helps an individual from a Third World country study at the Haggai Institute in Kihei.

Churches to hold joint holiday service
KIHEI - Kihei Lutheran Church will host a joint Thanksgiving Day worship service at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Kihei Tongan United Methodist Mission.
The service will include Holy Communion, the 4-Given men's quartet performing "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty," and an anthem by the Methodist choir. The two congregations will enjoy a Thanksgiving potluck luau at noon; then decorate the worship area at 1:30 p.m. for the Christmas Advent season.

Church to hold first service at new site
WAILUKU - Valley Isle Fellowship Church of Wailuku will hold a first worship service on its new property in Waikapu at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Pastor Bob Duffer will speak on "Do You Have a Mission in Life?" at the service under a tent on 25 church acres off Honoapiilani Highway. Signs will be posted to the property, which motorists must access via Waiale Drive between Waiko Road and Kuikahi Drive.
Darren Sarmiento will direct the church praise team in music, while Malia Mendez will lead hula and the signing ministry. The church drama ministry, coordinated by Sabrina Hamrick, also will offer a presentation.
Meanwhile, Valley Isle Fellowship's Vince Bagoyo leads a fundraising team for a new church building, whose plans are under way.
