Jewish congregation to hold party
KIHEI - The Jewish Congregation of Maui will hold its annual summer party on Sunday.
The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at 634 Alulike St. and will feature live music, wine, sushi, homemade chalah rolls and fruit and vegetable platters.
Cost is $10 for adults; no charge for children.

Omwake to speak at Unity Church
WAILUKU - The Rev. Mary Omwake will speak at 10 a.m. Saturday at Unity Church of Maui at 483 South High St. in Wailuku.
Omwake, a founding member of the Association for Global New Thought, has spoken at the United Nations for the Season for Peace and Nonviolence.
She has also worked on the Synthesis Dialogues with the Dalai Lama and on numerous peace projects.

'Praise in the Islands III' Aug. 21
WAILUKU - The Yoke of Jesus Christ Church, Maui will hold "Praise in the Islands III" from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Paukukalo Hawaiian Homes Community Center.
The event will feature a gospel concert and entertainers such as Richard Ho'opi'i, George Kahumoku Jr. and Mana Toa, as well as food booths from various churches in the community.
According to an announcement of the event, it is open to the public and will be smoke, alcohol and drug free.
