HONOLULU (AP) - A line wrapped around a block as people lined up to apply for roles as extras in the movie ''Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.''
Officials say a line began forming outside the Waikiki Community Center early as 2 a.m., with thousands eventually showing up to try for a chance to be selected in the Disney film.
Producers were looking for men to play pirates, sailors and stand-ins.
Those selected Saturday are expected to be called back for auditions on Kauai and Oahu later this week.
The ''Pirates'' film is scheduled to be shot on Kauai and Oahu this summer, finishing some time in August.
