Church celebrating grand opening

KAHULUI - The Awakening Church will celebrate its "grand-opening month" at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday at the Maui Beach Hotel.

The church is for people who "don't fit in at church."

"The Awakening Church attracts the type of people who would not get caught dead in a church," an announcement of the church's opening says. "They jam reggae-style music and provide a fun 'n short service that connects with the local people in a way that they can understand."

For more information, call Stephen Fussle at 359-1946 or via fax at 792-5171. His e-mail address is sfussle@awakeningonline.org, and the church's Web site is at www.awakeningonline.org.
