WAILUKU - The Maui Choral Arts Association will present its final summer sing and support beginning at 7 tonight at Iao Congregational Church, 2371 Vineyard St.
All singers on the island are invited to participate in singing John Rutter's "Requiem," conducted by Bob Wills, with soloist Leigh-anna Edwards and accompanist Beth Fobbe-Wills. The choral work was performed on Maui two years ago during a memorial service for Liz Janes-Brown, who was long active with community theater and music groups.
The first hour will be spent in rehearsal, followed by a short break and refreshments.
Then the singers will perform the 35-minute work. For those who want additional rehearsal time, an earlier session will begin at 6:30 p.m.
A $15 fee will be charged to singers and listeners.
One-third of the proceeds will go to the National Association for the Mentally Ill, which is partnering in the presentation.
