Gretchen G. Diekman and John A. Voxland are engaged to be married on June 24, 2009, in Kaupo.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of the Barbara and the late Ted A. Diekman of Oceanside, Calif. She has been working on Maui for the last eight years as a registered representative for Mass Mutual and financial adviser at Horizon Financial in Kahului. She also teaches the "Complete Financial Workshop" and ballroom dance classes Maui Community College.
The groom-to-be is the son of Wanda and Willis Voxland, of Burnsville, Minn. He came to Hawaii 28 years ago with the Coast Guard and is a surfboard shaper and statuary artist.
