KINGMAN, Ariz. - Mapuana Hailiopua Makaiwi, formerly of Molokai, and Eric Allen Urquijo Sr. will be married Friday at Oak Creek Terrace in Sedona, Ariz.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Stephanie Lawae Kaiahua-Young and the late Dane Kealani Makaiwi. Michael Kaipo Young is her stepfather. She was born in Honolulu and raised on Molokai, where she graduated from Molokai High School.
Mapuana Makaiwi attended Maui Community College, earning an associate degree in hotel industry. She is currently a general manager with Choice Hotels International in Arizona.

The groom-to-be is the son of Juan Lovato and Della Lovato. Born in Phoenix, he graduated from Camelback High School and joined the Marines and was stationed at Kaneohe. He is currently a police officer.
The couple has been together since 2001, and they have three children.
