MAKENA - Kandy Lia Helm and Michael Lucas exchanged marriage vows May 24, 2008, at Keawala'i Congregational Church. The Rev. Kealahou Alika officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Nat and Bev Helm of Pukalani. She is a graduate of Maui High School and has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Hawaii. She is an accountant at Maui Oil Co. and also works part time at Local Motion.
The groom is the son of Teddy and Myrna Gouveia of Kahului and Michael and Christina Lucas of Arizona. He also graduated from Maui High and works for Maui Oil Co. as well as the County of Maui.

The bridal party included maid of honor Sandy Reyno, Lei Valdez, Shy and Chynna Helm (both sisters of the bride), and Caitlin Lucas (daughter of the groom).
The groom's cousin, Valentine Chico Aveiro, was the best man, and Morris Ahnee, Mark Payba and Cary Ouchi were the ushers.
The flower girl was Jaely Parinas, cousin of the groom, and Noa Helm, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at the King Kamehameha Golf Course, in the building known as the "Marilyn Monroe House."
