When the Maui Democratic Party asked the Maui County Citizens for Democracy in Action to provide the deputy voter registrars for its 2008 Democratic Party caucus venues, we were happy to assist.
The overwhelming response was completely unexpected, but we succeeded in registering more than 900 voters, making this the single most successful day in our 2008 Voter Registration Campaign.
On behalf of Maui County Citizens for Democracy in Action, I would like to thank and congratulate all of our friends and neighbors who created such an impressive turnout.
After so many years of representing a textbook case of voter apathy, the people of Maui are now willing to make a stand and be heard. The word is out and understood: The only peaceful solution is to vote back America.
