Professional dancers to grace annual isle Academy Star Ball
Rita O’Connor and her Argentine tango partner, Gawain Bantle, will perform during the Academy Star Ball in Wailea on Saturday.
WAILEA — The Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy’s annual Academy Star Ball — a black tie, formal gala — will be held June 28 at the Fairmont Kea Lani.
There will be ballroom and Latin dancing on a 40-by-60-foot floor, performances by professionals and students, and DJ music by Private Image Dance Studio.
It begins with no-host cocktails at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 6:30, and the dance performances will begin around 8. The event is scheduled to end at 11.
Tickets cost $95 and are available at Topaz Goldsmith and Gallery in Kihei (call 890-5877), If The Shoe Fits in Wailuku (249-9710) or Gigi’s at the Ka‘anapali Beach Hotel (661-5888); and from ticket chairperson Cindy Dawson, 344-6288.
The event usually sells out; if not, there will be tickets available at the door.
