Carla Tracy - Dining Editor
Maui News veteran Carla Tracy is renowned as the leading voice of Maui’s restaurant world. As dining editor, she writes every Thursday in Scene about the latest in food, wine, events and restaurant happenings.
Carla digs deep to draw out the best from a shy farmer, a student chef, or the owner of an ethnic haunt. She’s equally at home interviewing superstar chefs from Emeril Lagasse to Wolfgang Puck, wine legends, nutritional gurus and music icons.
During her colorful career, she’s judged countless food contests, been a panelist for the James Beard Foundation awards, the Oscars of the food industry; appeared on local television shows; and done freelance for numerous magazines, cookbooks and guidebooks.
Carla and her husband, Mark Tracy, live in Central Maui and own Valley Isle Marine Center in Wailuku and Hawaii Marine Center on the Big Island.
With this blog, Carla hopes to touch not only on the latest-breaking news about Maui restaurants and food festivals, but topics such as nutrition, health trends, diet, recipes, cooking contests, foodie travel and more. She’d love your input!
