Here is our story from his morning's paper on Baldwin graduate Cassy Isagawa moving into the second round at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship:
Cassy Isagawa, a rising senior All-American at the University of Oregon and Baldwin High School graduate from Wailuku, advanced to the round of 32 at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship with a win on the second playoff hole over Blair Lewis of La Mesa, Calif., on Wednesday.
Isagawa was 3-up through 13 holes, but Lewis won the next three holes to tie the match being played at The Home Course in Dupont, Wash. Isagawa won the match on the 20th hole with a par on the 360-yard No. 2, while Lewis bogeyed.
Isagawa, who trailed by two holes through four played, won four holes in a row and six of eight to take her 3-up lead on the back nine.
Isagawa will face T.J. Kliebphipat of Panorama City, Calif., in the round of 32 today, beginning at 7 a.m. HST.
Honolulu's Eimi Koga, Rose Huang and Kaci Masuda also advanced to the round of 32 with victories Wednesday.
