Suzuki: New collision rule won't change things for him
February 26, 2014 - Robert Collias
Catcher Kurt Suzuki, a 2001 Baldwin graduate who joined the Minnesota Twins as a free agent in December, said he does not expect the new rule covering collisions at the plate to affect his approach.
"My main focus is always to keep myself out of danger and keep myself safe," Suzuki said on the team's website. "I'm not the biggest guy, so I'm not going to just plop myself in front of home plate. So I've always tried to have a really good technique of being safe, but still being able to make the play."
