A note from Nebraska students
February 14, 2014 - Leah Sherman
Anyone reading this blog knows that I love the idea of being able to share our knowledge of Maui (and Hawaii) with students on the Mainland. Receiving trinkets or notes with descriptions of far-off places would have been a highlight for me as a child in a land-locked state.
So, I regularly post letters that The Maui News receives from students across the country asking for just such information. Here is another one, this time from Nebraska:
Dear Readers of The Maui News,
My Class of 5th graders at Faith Christian School in Kearney, Nebraska are studying the 50 states and we have chosen to learn more about your state of Hawaii. Our assignment is to find out as much about our states as we can and we were wondering if you would help us out. Would you be willing to send usany information about your state? Some examples could be maps, brochures, souvenirs or anything else that would be helpful. We will be having a states fair at the beginning of May to display all of our information. Thank you!
