If you're not watching Chaminade-Baylor game, turn it on
November 25, 2013 - Robert Collias
It's halftime in the Chaminade-Baylor game at the EA Sports Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.
Chaminade's Christophe Varidel is challenging tournament single-game records for points (Gonzaga's Adam Morrison had 43 in a triple-OT win over Michigan State in 2005) and three-pointers (nine, by Toledo's Kent Murphree in 1990 against Chaminade).
Varidel is 7-for-10 from 3-point land, 10-for-17 from the field and had 31 points at halftime as the Silverswords trailed 50-47 18th-ranked Baylor at the break. The game has resumed on ESPNU.
We had planned a feature on Varidel, a Swedish transfer from Florida Gulf Coast, before all of this went down. It will be in our Tuesday edition, along with the rest of our wall-to-wall coverage.
