What the're saying about John Lotulelei: Mauian, Seahawk

September 1, 2013 - Robert Collias
If there is a more down-to-earth, humble guy in the NFL than John Lotulelei, I would be first in line to meet him.

Lotulelei, a 2009 Baldwin graduate, joined Molokai's Kimo von Oelhoffen and fellow Baldwin alumni Kaluka Maiava as the only former MIL players ever to make an NFL regular-season roster when Lotulelei survived the Seattle Seahawks' final cuts on Saturday.

From what I can find, we were the only news outlet to talk to Lotulelei after he made the cut (first link above).

Here is what the Las Vegas Sun said about Lotulelei making the roster, six hours after we broke the story.

Here is an interesting feature on Lotulelei during training camp from Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. A cool story, although Baldwin is not located in Kihei as the story says (Kihei is Lotulelei's home town).

And here is a take on < href='http://www.mercedsunstar.com/2013/08/19/3174520/seahawks-like-former-merced-college.html'>Lotulelei from the Merced Sun — he played for Merced Junior College before catching on at UNLV.

We will have more from my Saturday interview with Lotulelei in Monday's edition of The Maui News.
